February Dates #5

Message from me, Isabel:

It's February 28th, which means that Taylor and Markell (our fantastic February Date-a-Weekers) are done! I just want to thank both of them for their thoughtful posts and hilarious insights. I've talked extensively with both and have gotten to know them through their posts and I can say with certainty that they are some of the most kind, generous, and sweet people I have had the pleasure of knowing. I wish both of them nothing but the best on their journey's to find LOVE.

With that, onto their final dates!

Taylor's FINAL Date (#5)

Key Takeaways: Covid can really put a damper on things

Vitals:

Name: Tony

Length of date: 0

How the date was obtained: Hinge

Where: ....there was none

Tony and I made plans to hang out Monday night after he got off work, and I was so excited! Our second date had gone so well and I was really looking forward to seeing him again. But unfortunately, my roommate got Covid, and so I have to quarantine for 14 days until we know she is no longer transmissible. I let Tony know and he was very understanding about the situation. Obviously, I knew that Covid would be a factor in dating right now, and I am glad that both him and I are taking the precautions to not spread it further. I am bummed I can't see him for 2 weeks, but I am hoping that he is still interested once the quarantine is up! As far as my Date-a-Week journey goes, this was my "worst date.” Mostly because it didn't happen...

Overall Experience:

⭐️

The future for us… Hopefully a rain check for the third date!

Next Week: Well, my journey on Date-A-Week has come to an end. I am so thankful that I chose to do Date-A-Week and step out of my shell! It really pushed me to go out of my comfort zone. I feel more confident going on dates and it is exciting to see that there is potential out there! If you are hesitant or nervous, just DO IT! You got nothing to lose!

Markell's FINAL Date (#5)

Key Takeaways: If the chemistry is too good, then maybe it’s too good to be true!

Vitals:

Name: Macy because it was a quick meet up at the mall

Length of date: 1.5 hours

How the date was obtained: Tinder

Where: Park Meadows Mall, CO

When you’re on dating apps, one of the first things you’ll notice is how attractive some people are. Like it’s honestly nuts how good some people look in their pictures. When I swiped "yes" on Macy, I didn’t think for a second that she’d end up swiping on me too. She was one of the prettiest girls I have ever seen. I had to compose myself before I even sent a message to her. Rather than a pickup line I just opted for the truth: I told her how gorgeous her eyes were, and how cute her smile was. This worked because she messaged me back saying that she also thought I was really handsome. We ended up messaging back and forth for a bit before I informed her that I was leaving Tinder (my platinum subscription was almost up, and I wasn’t opting for more). She said she was busy with her family the next couple days so I wasn’t sure if she was going to get back to me in time. She ended up messaging me the day before I deleted Tinder saying that she hoped she hadn’t missed me. Not gonna lie, this felt good to read because I was also hoping to talk to her more as well. We then decided to meet at the Mall a few days later. Unfortunately, while we were on the date, she informed me that she was from out of state, which was a bummer because we had really good chemistry, like “willing to risk it all” good. The date itself ended up being shorter than either of us desired, but she had to get back to her family. I still very much appreciated the fact that she came out to meet me. She was even cuter in person, which was also a shame, since she had to leave.

Date-a-Week has been a really good experience for me. I haven’t had enough casual dating in my life, so it’s been nice meet people without any strings attached. It’s definitely gotten me outside of my comfort zone and been informative to how the dating world works these days.

Overall Experience:

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The future for us… We’ve been texting and snapchatting each other a fair amount. It’s fun getting to know her. I’d love to go out with her again, and although she’s expressed a desire to live here, realistically, I’m not sure if I’ll be living in CO that long.

Next Week: I have a Hinge date in the next few days. I’m excited to see where it goes, she seems really cool. I will be taking a break from dating after that. Even my extrovert energy is low at this point, but it’s been fun.
