Luke's Date #2
Key Takeaways: A date is way easier when you already know the person!
Vitals:
Name: Siri because I already gave her that name on Date a Week The podcast. My episode is on Apple Podcasts and Spotify. (Isabel side note - Luke was an amazing guest and his episode of the podcast made Ryan and I laugh so hard. Give us a listen and let us know what you think!)
Length of date: 6 hours
How the date was obtained: A last minute text
Where: George’s at the Cove in La Jolla/ La Jolla shores/ The Spot
The date I had originally obtained for this week had to reschedule at the last minute so I had to improvise and decided to ask Siri, who I’ve gone out with before. I met Siri last September when I went down to San Diego for a bachelor party and we hit it off immediately. We’ve kept in touch and gone out a few times and have become really good friends over the past 6 months. I can totally picture her and I in a relationship down the road but it’s not in the cards at the moment so we’ve agreed to just stay really good friends. So, I drove down to La Jolla on Friday to take her out. It was a 3-hour drive (with traffic) so you know how committed I was to this date! We met at a really nice restaurant called George’s at the Cove, which had a roof top deck overlooking the ocean. The views were beautiful! Also, Siri used to work there so she knew people which was huge because it was a bit on the pricier side and she was able to get us an “industry discount” (and a few free shots). Like I said before, her and I really click so the conversation was so fun and easy. We made each other laugh, which is always my favorite thing to do on any date. After a few tacos and margaritas, we left and went down to the beach and walked along the shore. She pointed to a house and told me that’s where Andy Samberg lives and I started freaking out because he is my absolute favorite. So, you can imagine my disappointment when she said she was just messing with me but I love the fact we can joke with each other like that. After walking for a bit, we stopped in at a bar called The Spot for one more drink and also because I knew neither of us wanted the date to end. She ran into some friends who were really cool and they joined us for a bit. Once we were done, we headed back to her place and watched tv for a while before I headed back to L.A. Overall it was a great time and it always is when I hangout with Siri! Her and I text and FaceTime a lot so we are always keeping in touch, but because of the distance we don’t get to see each other all that much. So when we do, we like to make the best of it. Who knows what could happen in the future between us? But for now, we’re perfectly happy being best friends.
Overall Experience:
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The future for us… Unclear, but a relationship is definitely in the cards.
Next Week: Next week I’ll be going out with the girl I met on Clubhouse who had to reschedule.
Sam's Date #2
Key Takeaways: Fun, flirty, and definitely thriving
Vitals:
Name: McConaughey - after my favorite hot male actor
Length of date: 3.5 hours
How the date was obtained: hinge!
Where: East Liberty Tap House, Salta Lake City
Talk about a 180 since last week! This date was definitely the game changer I wanted. I actually saw this guy at Alta Ski resort early on in the winter, but I didn’t get to talk to him, I only thought he was cute. Then, leave it up to my two young cousins to be swiping on my Hinge for me, and stop when they see McConaughey because he was so cute, and they were right.
McConaughey and I had some small talk on hinge and then a few nights ago, he took me out to East Liberty Tap House for dinner! He picked me up around 7 and right away I was impressed with his clean car, nice outfit, and overall cuteness. The conversation was flowing naturally and we kept bouncing from topic to topic so easily. We got along no problem, and had so many common interests it was so refreshing. He plays a sport for the University of Utah, which I think is so attractive and awesome. I’m actually going to watch one of his upcoming home games in the next couple weeks! He made me laugh quite a bit during our date, so much that it was hard to eat my food sometimes.
During the date, I couldn't stop smiling and staring at his attractive face, lol. He is still in school (he has a couple more months to graduate), but it doesn’t bother me at all. I thought I would be deterred from someone who is still in school since I'm not, but from talking to him, it seems like we’re on fairly similar tracks. He even told me that he eventually wants to move to Austin, Texas, which is ironic because I visited Austin last month and also decided that I want to live there. I could definitely tell he is a cowboy at heart.
After we finished dinner, he asked if I wanted to go back to his house to meet his roommates who we’re all hanging out, and I was having a great time so I said yes! His house was pretty nice for college students, and kept super clean, which isn’t the most common case for boy college roommates. I walked into a room filled with 5 boys, all lacrosse players, and they were so welcoming. Right away we were all talking and the banter was flowing. However, it got fairly late in the night so I asked him to drop me off back at home since I had to work the next day. He dropped me off, hugged me goodbye, and made sure I got in to my apartment okay! I left feeling so happy and giddish that the date went so well! The next morning, he texted me thank you again for such a great night and we’ve been talking ever since. Needless to say, I’m excited to hang out with him again!
Overall Experience:
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The future for us… We're going on a date next week and he's cooking me dinner at his house!
Next Week: I have a date with McConaughey again, and possibly another one with a new boy! To be determined... but I’m excited!
